LAHROE - The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Sunday hailed Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for reducing the prices of petroleum products.

The decision to reduce the prices of petroleum products would greatly help control price hike and benefit the common man, besides providing oxygen to the industry, said FPCCI President Zakaria Usman while talking to APP.

He, however, urged the government to take solid steps for overcoming the power crisis, as it would help the industrialists to meet export targets by ensuring timely despatch of consignments to their destinations.

He also asked the government to take measures for improving law and order.

Meanwhile, Chairman United Business Group and Vice President SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry Iftikhar Ali Malik said reduction in petroleum prices would provide relief to the industry.

He said sound economy needed peaceful atmosphere, better law and order and business friendly environment, and urged the political parties to accord priority to peaceful atmosphere in the country.

All the political parties and the people should get united for the promotion of democracy and maintaining durable peace in the country, he added.

He urged Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Imran khan to wind up sit-in the larger interest as it was causing trillions of rupees loss to national economy.
