LPG rate goes down after cut in oil prices

LAHORE - Following announcement of considerable reduction in petroleum prices the marketing companies of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) have also declared to reduce the rates of cooking gas in the range of Rs5-10 per kg in different areas of the country.
According to the latest cut in price, now LPG is being sold in Kharachi at Rs 110 per kg, in Lahore, Gujrawnwala, Gujrat, Faisalabad, Sialkot Hyderabad and Sukker at Rs 120 per kg and in Mirpur,, Mandi bahaudin, Bahawalpur, DG Khan, Kohat, Peshawar, Bannu, at Rs 125 per kg, in Rawalpindi, Islamabad at Rs 140 per kg and in Murree, Nathiagali, Muzaffarabad, Bagh and Fata at Rs 150 per kg.
It is to be noted that after the grand operation launched by Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) against LPG marketing companies, the price was reduced by Rs10 per kg, Rs100 domestic and Rs 350 commercial cylinder during last month.
Market sources said that OGRA and district governments were raiding LPG filling plant of marketing companies over allegations of price hike. After the decrease of the price in international market the local LPG producers were not reducing the prices and they were selling LPG at higher rates than the international prices and were earning unjustified profit. They said that companies reduced prices after immense pubic pressure and heavy fines imposed on them by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority.
