LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has stated that a new Pakistan cannot be created through joining hands with those who have ruined national economy, got their loans written off, grabbed lands and committed corruption.

Talking to assembly members of various districts on Sunday, the chief minister said that Imran Khan was promoting indecent language from his container. Khan has been creating hatred in the society through offensive language, he added.

“The conspiracy to destroy national economy and to hamper development programmes has failed and the politics of sit-ins has also met its death,” the chief minister maintained.

The PML-N would lay the foundation of a new Pakistan in accordance with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal and would ensure supremacy of law, justice and constitution, equitable distribution of resources and equal opportunities for all citizens, he further said.

Shahbaz Sharif said that an attempt was also made to undermine the ongoing military operation, Zarb-e-Azb. He said that the armed forces of Pakistan were fighting against terrorists and thousands of Pakistanis including officers and jawans of Pak Army, police and other law enforcement agencies lost their lives in the war against terrorism.

“Whole nation is united against terrorism but some elements have tried to harm this operation through sit-ins,” he also blamed.

He added that Imran Khan had neither spoken in support of the military operation nor extended any help to IDPs. “Imran Khan went to IDPs but only to lament the so-called rigging,” he added.

The CM said that the PTI chief also misled the nation with his allegation on Chinese investment in Pakistan, whereas the total investment would factually be made by China under the agreements between both the governments. “Even Chinese authorities have also clarified this fact,” he added.

“While economy of the country is improving, investment is being introduced, work is being carried out speedily on power projects and economic projects are being executed, these sit-ins and rallies are a disservice to the country,” he believed.

The CM was of the view that leaders were not supposed to mislead the masses through lies and falsehood. He said that Imran Khan had promised from container that he would not tell lies to the nation but he had not given up his stubbornness and the habit of telling lies.

“This behaviour on the part of a leader is deplorable,” he added.

He said that Imran Khan raised hue and cry about rigging in general elections, but he took oath in National Assembly and KPK, availed privileges and also congratulated the PML-N leadership for its victory in elections.

“It is a longstanding desire of Imran Khan to come into power by any means,” he revealed, adding that the nation would not allow Khan to fulfil his desires.

Shahbaz Sharif said that Imran Khan should have held accountable his companion who got Rs240 million loan written off but instead he provided protection to him.

The people of Pakistan have given mandate to the present leadership up to 2018, which would be respected and the PML-N leadership would remove poverty, unemployment and ignorance from the country, the chief minister concluded.
