ISLAMABAD- A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Mirage-5 jet crashed in Athara Hazari area in Jhang district today. The pilot of the aircraft managed to survive the crash.

The fighter jet was on a routine training mission when it met with the crash, according to a spokesperson of the PAF Air Commodore Tariq, who added that the aircraft's pilot remained safe in the incident as he had executed a safe ejection.

"No loss of civilian life and property has been reported on ground," the spokesman told newsmen, adding that a board of inquiry was ordered by the Air Headquarters in Islamabad to determine the cause of accident.
