KARACHI (APP) - All the lines of Edhi's Ambulance, Emergency and Control Room '115' have been dead since 9 pm Friday and could not be restored so far, on Saturday. According to a spokesman of Edhi head Office, people contact 115 to convey information about any accident or call ambulance in emergency or for patients. He said that when concerned exchange was contacted, it was informed that PTCL's Accounts department took the action. Spokesman said that Edhi Ambulance was allocated uniform code emergency No 115 throughout Pakistan in 1988 and it does not have any call charges or line rent and people at large and even children have fully accustomed with this number during the last 30 years. Edhi spokesman said that all PTCL telephone exchanges and staff always cooperated with Edhi Foundation but unfortunately the PTCL Accounts department close down all lines of Emergency No 115 without any information. He hoped that senior PTCL officials will take notice of this negligience of Accounts department and take action against concerned persons so that this thing does not recur.
