LAHORE - Kinnaird College for Women (KCW) on Monday held the inauguration ceremony of regular transmission of Radio Kinnaird FM 97.6 at the Haldia Hall on Monday. Fauzia Wahab, information secretary of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), was the chief guest on the occasion. Dr Rukhsana Javed, Principal KCW, former Principal Mira Phailbus and Shazia Saeed, Head of Department Media Studies were also present. Fauzia Wahab and her delegation were first taken to the radio station where she cut the ribbon as the inauguration gesture. Addressing the students, she congratulated the Media Studies Department head Shazia Saeed and radio team. She said she was honoured to be part of the ceremony. In her address she added that Kinnaird students have a bright future. The college has produced big names like Asma Jahangir, Bhapsi Sidhwa, Attya Inayat Ullah and Moneeza Hashmi to name a few. The former principal Mira Phailbus said that Kinnaird was producing educated women who could give information and confidence to the less privileged women in our society. Shazia said that Kinnaird had achieved a milestone in 98 years history and was honoured to announce regular transmission of Radio Kinnaird FM 97.6. An interesting question-answer session took place at the end of the ceremony where students asked questions to Wahab.
