LAHORE - Governor Sardar Latif Khosa and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, who met at the Governors House on Monday, had a unanimous view that kite flying should be allowed during the upcoming basant festival. Governor Khosa, said sources, argued: If a plane crashes, all other flights are not abandoned. He, however, hoped that the [Punjab] government should make it sure that metal wire was not used in the kite flying. The two agreed to devise a legal mechanism to prevent the use of metal wire in the kite flying, they added. The two provincial heads also agreed to hold Horse and Cattle Show this year, a fair which has been abandoned for the last three years. The governor also asked the chief minister to promote sports activities in educational institutions. Shahbaz Sharif on this occasion reportedly assured the governor that he will implement the power-sharing formula in Punjab as agreed between the two coalition partners. Khosa and Shahbaz Sharif also resolved to work together in close coordination with each other to rum provincial affairs through mutual consultation. It was the first official call of the chief minister on the governor, which lasted around an hour. The chief minister reached the redezcious at 9:30 am, and was warmly received by the governor. You are welcome at your own Governors House, Khosa said while greeting Shahbaz Sharif on his arrival there. Later the two had the one-on-one meeting. After the meeting they told reporters that they had agreed to rum Punjabs administrative matters through mutual cooperation and consultation in the larger interest of the people. The chief minister on this occasion resolved to bridge the communication gap which had existed between the chief executive of the province and the governor in the past three years. Khosa said the chief ministers visit will go a long way in promoting politics of reconciliation. He said that under instructions from the president and the prime minister he would fully cooperate with the chief minister to maintain peace in the province. He said cooperation with the PML-N will continue for progress of the province. Shahbaz Sharif said he was thankful to the governor for inviting him at his office. He said it was a welling development that governor had assured him all out cooperation in provincial matters. Shahbaz said that he would take the governor along with him for development of the province and help him to fulfill his constitutional responsibilities. He vowed to resolve Punjab problems through mutual efforts. He said Punjab governor was a legal expert and he will consult him on legal matters as well. He said he will provide him all the information to the governor as desired by him. The governor said he had invited the chief minister and his cabinet to dinner so that they could discuss all matters at length, adding that Shahbaz Sharif had accepted his invitation. Magsi meets Khosa: Balochistan Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Magsi called on Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa at the Governor House on Monday and congratulated him on his appointment as governor Punjab. Both discussed current political situation in the country and issues relating to Balochistan. As per sources, they also exchanged views over JWP leader Shahzain Bugtis latest move to regain control over Dera Bugti.
