FAISALABAD
The 3rd German Shepherd DCP Landesgruppen Show on Sunday drew a large number of dog-lovers to the University of Agriculture Faisalabad.
The show was arranged by the UAF Faculty of Veterinary Sciences in collaboration with Royal Canin in which around 120 German Shepherd Dogs participated in minor puppy, puppy, junior, youth and open categories from across the country. It is one of the most famous breed worldwide and it stands on the top of preference of dog-lovers in Pakistan. Its figure, aggression and intelligence makes it the preferred breed for many types of work, including search and rescue.
The show was arranged at D-Ground of the varsity. It was witnessed by a large number of people including UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad and Faisalabad DCO Noorul Amin Mengal.
Dr Iqrar Ahmad said that the UAF is making all-out efforts to ensure quality veterinary education at the campus. He said that such activities help promote the best breed of animals through the competition. He said that the UAF is one of the pioneers to start the DVM degree to flourish the livestock sector with the trained manpower. He said the University has also established a Veterinary Hospital on the outskirts of the city near Dera Sain Graveyard, Ghulam Muhammadabad to provide free veterinary medical treatment for the livestock of the farming community.
