Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said that the anti-terrorism operation Zarb-e-Azb will continue till the complete elimination of terrorism.

Addressing a meeting of elected representatives and party workers at Sialkot, he said that the operation will go to its logical end for crushing terrorism. He said that government was committed to weeding out terrorism from Pakistan. He added the armed forces had been playing their excellent role in uprooting terrorism from the country and committed to purging it of the menace.

He said that Zarb-e-Azb was achieving its goals. He said that the whole nation stands united against terrorism and ready to sacrifice even their lives in the battle against terrorism along with with the armed forces of Pakistan. He said that Pakistan had always played frontline role against terrorism and militancy besides sacrificing a lot for the purpose.

Addressing an Open Kutchery earlier at PML-N House Paris Road Sialkot City, the minister said that the PML-N government was making efforts to raise the living standard of the people by ensuring easy and smooth provision of all basic facilities at their doorsteps. He said that the PML-N was gradually fulfilling its political promises and doing the politics of the principles. He listened to the complaints and problems of the people and issued orders on various applications to provide relief for the applicants.

On the other side, Punjab Minister for Education Rana Mashhood pledged to make Govt College Women University (GCWU) Sialkot as a Centre of Excellence.

He asked the GCWU syndicate to seek financial support and cooperation from Sialkot exporters for M Phil and PhD students. He was addressing a meeting of the syndicate. He directed the GCWU management to ensure early completion of hiring of MPhil and PhD faculty to build the capacity of academic staff.

He also ordered early establishment of a state-of-the-art IT lab at GCWU Sialkot as well.

Earlier, he reviewed the internal and external security systems of GCWU Sialkot. The minister ordered the university management to ensure early purchasing of night vision CCTV cameras and increase the height of the university building’s boundary walls.

GCWU Vice Chancellor Dr Farhat Saleemi, MPAs Shabeena Majeed Wyne, Begum Gulnaz Shujaat, Additional Secretary Academic Dr Shoaib also attended the meeting.
