ISLAMABAD - Accountability Court Islamabad judge Mohammad Bashir directed the NAB prosecutor to bring joint investigation team (JIT) head Wajid Zia and investigation officer Nadir Abbas in the assets beyond means corruption reference against former finance minister Ishaq Dar, to court for recording of their statements on February 8.
Meanwhile, prosecution witness Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) officer Sidra Mansoor presented additional documents sought by the court, while another prosecution witness, Suleman Saeed, also deposed before the court.
Suleman Saeed, while recording his statement, informed the court that the record he intended to present in the court would be available with him in an hour’s time as someone would be bringing it from Karachi and as soon as the flight would land here, he would bring the record to him.
The court on his request took a break in the case and later on receiving the record, Suleman Saeed presented it in the court.
Judge Mohammad Bashir asked the prosecution counsel to bring the JIT head Wajid Zia and investigation officer in assets beyond means case against former finance minister Ishaq Dar for recording of their statements, as both were included in the list of prosecution witnesses.
The NAB Prosecutor, Imran Shafique, prayed to the court to summon both these witnesses for recording of their statement but Judge Mohammad Bashir said that as both were on the list of prosecution witnesses, so it was the duty of prosecution to bring them to the witness box.
The judge adjourned the hearing till February 8 with the remarks that in case both Wajid Zia and Nadir Abbas would not appear before the court on the next date of hearing then the court would summon them and make them depose before the court.
