LAHORE - Twenty-three victims of the 2015 Kasur child abuse scandal staged a protest at Liberty Roundabout Wednesday, demanding Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar constitute a new joint investigation team.
They rejected Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah’s statement wherein he called the sex scandal a land dispute and raised the demand for an to constitute an inquiry committee on Sana remarks. The Punjab’s largest-ever child abuse scandal in Pakistan’s history hit headlines in 2015.
Flanked by their family and friends , the protesters were holding placards inscribed with slogans ‘I Am Child Abuse Survivor’, ‘I Have Been Raped’, ‘We Want Justice’ and ‘I Am A Survivor etc.
They expressed their dissatisfaction at the lower courts, saying: the cases of child abuse have been pending for years. Senior judges should took up the matter.”

Two of the victims Naeem Ashiq and Muhammad Ahmed claimed that they withdrew their applications under Section 265 after being threatened by accused racket. They alleged that MPA Malik Saeed Ahmed Khan from Kasur gave them threatening phone calls. Their lawyer Barrister Hassan Khan Niazi claimed that the victims were not allowed free trail according to Article 10 of the constitution.
