Kidnappers held, girl recovered

KARACHI - An eight-year-old girl was recovered safely by police from the captivity of the kidnappers after at least six days. The police also claimed to have recovered two suspects allegedly involved in the kidnapping of a minor girl.

Fida Hussain, a father of the abducted girl had registered a complaint with the Boat Basin police station over kidnapping of a girl on January 25. Police officials said that the complainant in his statement to the police said that his eight year old daughter Laraib had been kidnapped and he has accused a woman, namely Nazeran Bibi alias Rani and Nazar Muhammad alias Malang.

Police officials said that the accused persons also demanded the ransom money from the family and warned of dire consequence if they fail to pay the ransom amount. Police officials said that the police started investigations following a registration of a case and later arrested both the suspects from the District South and also recovered an abducted girl safely from their custody. Further investigation was underway.

FOUR SUSPECTS ARRESTED

Rangers arrested at least four suspects during ongoing targeted raids in parts of a city. The suspects included a political worker, Khurram alias Zafar Siddiqui, affiliated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London arrested during a targeted raid conducted in Gulberg. Rangers spokesperson claimed that the accused was involved in target killings and extortion.

In another raid, a suspect allegedly involved in extortion activities was arrested during a raid conducted in Saudabad area. The accused was identified as Saifullah. Meanwhile, two more suspects Ovais Ahmed Khalid Khan were arrested during separate raids in Memon Goth and Awami Colony areas.
