KARACHI - Jaffaria Alliance Pakistan (JAP) has installed more than 24 CCTV Cameras in Nishtar Park, which is a central place of Muharram majalis, and on the routes of the central procession of 8th, 9th and 10th Muharram (Yaum-e-Ashura). The leading Shia organisations and scouts groups have deputed more than 4,800 volunteers to protect the holy events from any untoward situation during the Muharram, The Nation has learned. Keeping in view of sectarian tension and ongoing terrorism in the country, Jaffaria Alliance has taken such concrete security measures. The Shia organisations and organisers of the Muharram-ul-Harram Majalis and processions have chalked out their strategy to thwart any untoward incident during the Muharram-ul-Harram. JAP central additional secretary and Incharge of monitoring cell, Shabbar Raza said that the central Azadari Cell has been established at Nishtar Park where the gatherings of Central Majalis of Muharram and 8th, 9th and Yaum-e-Ashura processions would be held. He said that the JAP has installed more than 24 CCTV cameras in Nishtarpark and in the surroundings of the Central processions. He said that Jaffaria Alliance, Imamia Students Organization, Markazi Tanzeem-e-Aza, Imamia Scouts, Abu-Turab Scouts, Pak Hyderi Scouts, Abul-Hassan Scouts, Scout Rabita Council and other groups would provide more than 4,800 volunteers in order to thwart any untoward incident on the occasion. He pointed out that two years ago the volunteers of JAP monitoring cell watched a suspect person through the CCTV setup and handed him to the LEAs personnel, who had foiled a conspiracy of terrorist attack on majalis by a gang of terrorists. e said that government had not provided any support in the establishment of Monitoring Cell and the JAP has installed CCTV cameras through its own resources. He said that the Rangers and Police personnel were also monitoring the Majalis of Muharram in the JAP monitoring cell along with the volunteers of JAP Azadari cell. He said that we were not using the CDGK's newly established monitoring cell in Nishtar park adding that the CDGK monitoring cell failed to watch the culprits of Karachi violence and dependence on this system would be useless. The chief coordinator of Scout Rabita Council (SRC) Sardar Hussain said that the SRC volunteers have been handed over the security of over 500 imambargahs and majlis venues. He said that more than 2400 scouts of SRC members were performing their services in the various areas of the metropolis to prevent the eve of Muharram from any kind of threat. He added that the female scouts and volunteers were also deputed in the women Majalis and the main programs of Majalis across the city.
