ISLAMABAD – After the outbreak of measles in Sindh, five suspected cases of measles have been reported in different hospitals of Rawalpindi and Islamabad Monday.
According to World Health Organisation (WHO) officials, there is no outbreak in the twin cities and no deaths have been reported so far but five suspected cases have been reported from different areas. Since the outbreak in Sindh is due to floods, 15 deaths have been reported in Karachi and over a hundred cases are suspected.
According to information Aftab Ahmad Khatri, Secretary Health Sindh chaired a meeting of DHOs and DSCs at Sukkur regarding measles situation and decided to prepare a micro plan for mop up of measles and start activities in Sukkur, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Khairpur, Jacobabad, Larkana and Qamber.
