KARACHI – The Pakistan Medical Association Sindh chapter has expressed concerns over the non-serious attitude of the Sindh government to recover Dr Abdul Wahab Wadho of Qamber-Shahdadkot district who was kidnapped 20 days ago. PMA Sindh President Dr Samrina Hashmi said that Dr Wadho was a senior doctor, who remained medical superintendent of the Mirokhan District Hospital and EDO of the district in the past. “In this harsh cold weather, we are worried about his condition.”“The PMA Sindh is avoiding strikes and OPD closures due to bomb blasts and targeted killing in Karachi in which almost 20 people are killed every day. The situation in Upper Sindh is also out of control and more than 100 children have died due to measles epidemic. Despite our cooperation, the government has not yet taken any serious notice of our senior doctor's abduction. The police in that area is not helpful either. The kidnappers are demanding large sums of money. Why is our chief minister, governor and Burney quiet, who pay millions of dollars for Somalian abductors? Are doctors not serving the community? Are they not the citizens of this country and province? Are they the children of Lesser God? PMA Sindh demands immediate action on part of the government and Police. Please do not provoke us to go to Extreme actions like closure of Hospitals in Balochistan,” she questioned.
