Urs of Hazrat Ali Hajvery from today


LAHORE – Provincial Secretary and Chief Administrator Auqaf Tariq Mehmood Pasha has said that Department has allocated Rs8 million for meeting the expenses of Urs of Hazrat Ali Hajvery (RA) this year. He said that edible items for Langar have been purchased.
He said that the ceremonies of the Urs will formally start from Tuesday (today) and end on Thursday. He said that before starts of the Urs, competitions of reciting Quran, Naat and speech among children were held. He said that seminars, conferences and mushairas have also been held before the Urs.
Tariq Mehmood said that on the occasion of Urs, besides issuing security cards for supply of Langar at Darbar, shuttle service will also be started by the Auqaf Department. He said that four camps have been set up at Lohari Gate, Niazi Chowk, Katchery Chowk and Pir Makki Taxali Gate where this shuttle service will receive the langar from the devotees.
He said that camp offices of WAPDA, Sui Gas and WASA Departments and TMA are being set up for meeting any emergent situation on the occasion of Urs. He said that in addition to Auqaf Department, medical camps are also being set up by health department and private organizations whereas the vehicles of Rescue-1122 and fire brigade will be available at Darbar round the clock.
