Security forces in Pakistan and Afghanistan have agreed to carry out coordinated operations against terrorists along the Pak-Afghan border. This is essential, to catch the terrorists we need the cooperation of the Afghans. Adviser to Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz said that the Afghan leadership has assured our army of full cooperation in countering terrorism.

The adviser’s remarks come days after Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif travelled to Kabul, where he secured assurances from Afghan President Ashraf Ghani as well as International Security Assistance Force (Isaf) commander General Joseph Dunford of complete cooperation in security-related matters. Better border management, between Pakistan and Afghanistan and also perhaps fencing the border will help in apprehending these assailants. We need to immediately chalk out a comprehensive plan and work out a strategy with our neighbours so that the terrorists can no longer use our territory for their nefarious plots.
