Girl gang raped by five in Pindi

rawalpindi - A girl was gang-raped allegedly by a group of five men here at a factory in Ratta Amral area, police said yesterday.
The victim girl was brought to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital where reports of initial medical tests revealed that the girl was subjected to rape. Police lodged a case against the accused under sections 376/337L2/147/149 of PPC.
The victim girl belongs to Faisalabad and is residing in a rented house in Dhoke Syedan area.
She was allegedly dragged into a car by three men at GPO Chowk Saddar where she had come for buying clothes. She was taken to a quilt factory located in Ratta Amral Road where two others were already present, police said. Later, the five men raped the girl.
Police added the accused also tortured the girl and snatched a mobile phone and Rs 3,400 from her.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Babar Mumtaz, when contacted, said that five men allegedly raped the girl and later tortured her. Police lodged case against five men on the application of the girl, he said.
He said that police arrested two accused namely Malik Ali and Malik Hassnain while search for other three is under way. He said that the DNA tests would also be conducted of the victim and the accused. He ordered the SHO police station Ratta Amral to probe the case on merit.
Meanwhile, at least one person was killed and six others sustained bullet injuries over a petty dispute in Lalkurti area yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Ikhlaq Kiyani while those who sustained bullet injuries included Hasnat, Siddique, Hassan Akhter, Zaheer, Ajmal and Jabbar. Rescue 1122 shifted the dead and the injured to District Headquarters Hospital.
According to DSP Farhan Aslam, a brawl occurred between Hassnat and Tariq over buying a buffalo in the slaughter house at Lalkurti but later the dispute was resolved by the mediators. He said that on the day of incident, the both groups fought again at the slaughter house. He said that police had lodged a murder case and started investigation with no arrest so far.
On the other hand, the doctors in DHQ Hospital said the condition of two injured persons was critical and doctors were trying their level best to save their lives.
The incident of firing gripped the area into fear and the traders shut down their shops. A heavy contingent of police rushed to the crime scene, collected evidence and recorded statements of the eyewitnesses.
