Pakistan has handed over the list of 457 Indian prisoners to Indian High Commission in Islamabad today.
According to a press release of Foreign Office, the list includes 58 civilians and 399 fishermen jailed in Pakistan.
This step is being taken under Consular Access Agreement between Pakistan and India which was signed on May 21, 2008 under which both states are required exchange list of prisoners twice every year, on January 1 and July 1 respectively.
Pakistan will release 148 fishermen on January 8, the statement read.
Furthermore, India will hand over list of Pakistani prisoners to High Commission in New Delhi.
