KARACHI - Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Sultan Sallahuddin Babar Khattak , on Monday assumed the charge as Inspector General of Sindh Police (IGP) while Deputy Inspector General (Headquarters), Wasim Ahmed has replaced him as the new CCPO Karachi. Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) has issued the notifications in this regard. Earlier, interior ministry had appointed Sindh IGP Dr Shoaib Suddle as the new Director General of the Intelligence Bureau (IB) who has replaced Tariq Lodhi. The Sindh government had appointed Sallahuddin Babar Khattak the new CCPO replacing Niaz Ahmed Siddiqui. Khattak, a Grade-21 officer of the Pakistan Police Services Group, took over the charge as CCPO on April 21 this year. He joined the Pakistan Police Service in 1973 as an ASP and served at various important posts including as DIG Crime Branch, DIG Sukkur, DIG Karachi Range, DIG Traffic Karachi, Director FIA Karachi, RPO Hyderabad and Additional IG Special Branch. Sources said the federal interior ministry has decided to order a major reshuffle in the law-enforcement agencies.
