KARACHI - The quarrels between passengers and railway officials have become a routine matter at the Cantt Station due the charging of high rates at the parcel office. Talking to The Nation here on Monday, the passengers said that they were facing several problems with regard to the booking of their valuables at the luggage office of Cantt Station. They said the authorities had not displaced the rate list at the parcel office due to which the concerned officials are charging extra rates for booking their luggage. They further alleged the agent mafia was also fleecing the passengers and demand extra fares for booking. A number of passengers complained that they were suffering from several problems when they reach the booking office. They alleged that whenever they approached the booking office, the concerned management demand more fares. They alleged that such malpractices of the concerned railways officials have become a routine matter and often resulted in the exchange of hot wards between the passengers and booking clerks. When contacted, the concerned railway authorities denied the allegations and refused to further comment on the issue.
