ISLAMABAD - Quashing the doubts to revert to its earlier position, MQM is fast moving to play its role as opposition, as it formally submitted application to sit on opposition benches in National Assembly and Senate. MQM MNA Haider Abbas Rizvi and Senator Tahir Mashhadi submitted applications respectively in the NA and Senate Secretariats. The MQM has already submitted an application in Sindh Assembly for allotting opposition benches. It is relevant to mention here that MQM might be allocated same seats where they were sitting earlier as coalition partner of PPP. Sources said that this new allotment is most likely before the start of coming session of both houses. Talking to the media after submitting application in National Assembly, Haider Abbas Rizvi said that his party has become party of opposition after submitting application for allocations seats in the Opposition benches in Upper and Lower Houses. He pointed out that MQM would strengthen the opposition. He was of the view that it was very difficult to have alliance with the government and added that MQM with other opposition parties would give tough time to the government, as MQM is trying best to improve its relations with other political parties. There is no meeting scheduled between Quaid MQM Altaf Hussain and President Asif Ali Zardari, he added. Senator Tahir talking to the media said that Pakistan Peoples Party cannot be trusted further and their decision to sit on opposition benches was final.
