ISLAMABAD (Online) - Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has refused to issue arms import licence to Federal Minister for Commerce Amin Fahim. Ministry of Commerce sent a summary to Prime Minister in which it was suggested that the import licences of some 464 current arms dealers might be cancelled and Commerce Minister Amin Fahim might be allowed to import arms in the country. PM decided to take the opinion of the provinces on the summary. Only Khyber Pakhtunkhwa opposed it while Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan favoured the proposal. But when the matter was brought in front of the Federal Cabinet then the members opposed the matter by saying that there is already a large quantity of arms in Pakistan. On which Prime Minister declined the summary to grant arms import licence to Federal Minister Makhdoom Amin Fahim.
