KARACHI - Two unknown players nine year old off spinner Subhana Tariq playing for JS Orange and spinner Shumaila Qureshi of JS Blue dominated on the second day of the JS Bank womens T20 cricket here on Thursday at Moin khan Academy ground. Though a number of Pakistani senior players who won gold medals at Asian Games and also were part of Pakistan team in various international events have been inducted in four teams picked for the event but they were being upstaged by players not heard before. Subhana Tariq and Shumaila Qureshi outshone the established players. Tiny Subhana who stand four feet tall in her shoes took three for 12 which restricted JS Green to 95 for six. However her performance did not give her team victory because her team could not score the needed runs. JS Orange collapsed for 60 all out after Romana Arshad bagged three for eleven. Subhana won player of the match award and a cash reward of Rs. 2000 which is given to each player of the match. Shumaila Qureshi who sends down off spin also stole the lime light and took four for 13 to bowl JS Red for low 33. But her performance like that of Subhana could not give her team win. JS Red lost the match to JS Blue by eight wickets after the winner replied with 37 for two. She however won the player of the match award and the cash prize. Top two teams at the end of the four team league round would qualify for the final. The winner will get Rs. 50,000 as winner purse while the runner up would get Rs. 25,000.Player of the tournament will get Rs. 5000. Summarized scores. JS Green beat JS Orange.
