June 26th was celebrated as World Drugs Day, and the Ministry of Narcotics Control and ANF will launch a campaign involving students across Pakistan to create awareness about the detrimental effects of drugs through social media. A new ‘Planning and Monitoring Unit’ has been established within the ministry in liaison with the ANF to streamline all efforts for launching these programs and creating awareness for tackling the use and sale of narcotics within Pakistan. The country continues to focus on eliminating poppy production and reducing the demand for drugs amidst international cooperation. It is imperative that the citizens of Pakistan are united in the fight against this menace. One must look forward to accomplishing the goal of a ‘Drug-Free Pakistan’ through active support from the people.
