‘Anti-Narcotics Day,’ was being observed on June 26 the world over, with a resolve to continue the fight against narcotics and to raise public awareness about the negative effects of drugs. Drug trafficking has its tentacles spread in financing terrorist organizations and a number of criminal activities. Despite the strict international drug laws, the number of drug dependents and drug traffickers are steadily increasing across the country. Using strong anti-narcotic law enforcement, reasonable success can be achieved in the reduction in demand and supply of drugs. The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has been performing well since its inception. All the law enforcement agencies, non-government organizations (NGOs) and the education departments should work together to chalk out special drug prevention programs to prevent the younger generation from falling victim to drugs.
