ISLAMABAD : Samajwadi Party (SP) leader was booked in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli district for shouting slogans in support of Pakistan, police said on Monday. As per reports, “Samajwadi Party leader Mehmood Alam, resident of Jhinjhana town, was arrested on the Meerut-Karnal highway.” When policemen tried to arrest Alam, he started raising pro-Pakistan and anti-Narendra Modi slogans. “The SP leader started shouting on top of his voice ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ after which local officials booked him for breach of peace,” a police official said.

The top officials ordered stringent action against Alam and sedition charges were added to the initial ‘challan’ after they came to know about the incident.
