Fear is a basic human emotion that induces a psychological reaction. This instinct or emotion seems to play an important role in politics. The fear of losing power, the power to control a whole nation is like a strong drug. Apparently, both our ‘conservative’ ruling elite and the new ‘revolutionary’ leader, Tahirul Qadri are equally influenced by it. Primarily moved by this drive, the former chose to divert a flight and the latter refused to alight. What a drama!

The brutality shown in Model Town and diverting the flight from Islamabad to Lahore reflects the government’s irrational panic and anxiety. How can frightened people work for the betterment of a nation? We need courageous and daring initiatives to do some good for the people.
