Ulema urge Taliban to surrender

LAHORE  - The Sunni Tehreek Ulema Board on Monday made a compassionate appeal to the armed militants, working under the Taliban, to surrender arms.
Over 300 scholars of Sunni Tehreek Ulema Board appealed to the top Taliban leaders to persuade their factions in giving up arms. Ulema said Islam is the religion of peace and it preaches tolerance and brotherhood.
They urged the top Taliban leaders to surrender arms in respect of the holy month of Ramazan. They said militant groups must stop their terrorist activities forthwith during this holy month. Ulema said thousands of families were forced to flee their homes in Waziristan due to the Taliban threat.
