LAHORE - Following the directives of IGP Syed Kaleem Imam, the pre-poll training for the police force was launched in all districts of the province on Saturday, a police spokesman said.

Policemen will be trained in different matters including security and protection of ballot boxes and returning officers, VIPs, first-aid, firefighting, command skills, unarmed combat, emergency situation handling, and coordination with other law enforcement agencies according to modern parameters.  The seven-day training course has been divided into two sessions of three days each and according to the schedule, pre-poll training will be held in Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad and Gujranwala regions and districts from July 1, followed by second phase from 9th in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Multan, DG Khan and Bahawalpur regions and districts.

Several teams of trainers from the Lahore Elite Police Training School have been formed. In all district Police Lines, special training will be held under the supervision of skillful instructors from District Elite Groups and Special Elite Groups.
