KARACHI: Karachi's Lyari Bihar Colony residents have attacked the convoy of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday.

The residents staged a protest as Bilawal led a rally of his supporters in the area to kickstart his election campaign.

According to the media reports, protesters threw stones at the PPP's election rally and smashed windows of the vehicles.

Bilawal’s convoy remained stuck in the area for half an hour as police and PPP workers were unable to diffuse the situation.

This protest was being held by our opponents, Yousuf Baloch, a central PPP leader, blamed. The rally then diverted to other areas where PPP enjoys a good support.

Bilawal Bhutto spokesman Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar called on the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to take notice of the incident.
