Roadmap prepared to construct 25 new playgrounds in Bahawalpur division

Bahawalpur - Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Captain Muhammad Zafar Iqbal has said that a roadmap has been prepared to provide sports facilities to the youth in Bahawalpur Division and to construct 25 new playgrounds across the division.

He expressed these views in a video link meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Punjab. Apart from Secretary Sports, Secretary Schools, Secretary Higher Education Commission and Director General Sports, all the divisional departments of Punjab were present in the meeting.  The meeting was attended by Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Divisional Sports Officers and District Sports Officers.  The young generation should have maximum opportunities to participate in healthy activities.

The meeting was informed that the Commissioner’s Office Bahawalpur has identified a site for construction of 25 new grounds in Bahawalpur Division out of which 8 grounds will be constructed in Bahawalpur District, 12 grounds in Rahim Yar Khan District and 5 grounds in Bahawalnagar District. 

Sports grounds in schools and colleges will also be upgraded.  The Chief Secretary Punjab directed the Director Colleges including District Administration, District Sports Officers and Officers of School Education Department to identify the sports grounds in the schools and colleges and send full details to the Divisional Sports Officers so that the complete and final plan of Bahawalpur Division could be finalized and can be sent to higher Punjab.  He further said that under this plan, the rehabilitation of the grounds which could be started immediately would be implemented while PC-1 would be prepared for the commencement of the remaining works.  The Chief Secretary directed that sports programs should be organized across the province from September 2021 to March 2022 to provide maximum opportunities to the players to play. He directed the heads of schools and colleges to immediately update their sports calendars.  Continue to revive sports.

DC approves tax-free budget

DC and Administrator Tehsil Council President Irfan Ali Kathia has approved the tax free financial year 2021-22 budget presented by Chief Officer Tehsil Council President Mian Azhar Javed.  The total estimate of BJB is Rs. 32 crore 26 lakh 93 thousand 400 while the estimated expenditure is Rs. 30 crore 66 lakh 48 thousand 227 .  Assistant Commissioner Bahawalpur Tehsil President Zahid Hussain, Tehsil Finance Officer Safdar Hussain Bukhari, TOR Iram Shehzadi and TOI & S Chaudhry Khalid Javed were present on the occasion.  The Deputy Commissioner said that the Pattan tax has been abolished in Tehsil Council President Bahawalpur and the tax imposed on the industry has been reduced for the welfare of the people.  He said that license permit tax has also been abolished in the budget.  Chief Officer Tehsil Council President Mian Azhar Javed said that Rs. 16.5 million has been allocated for construction and repair in the budget for the year 2021-2022.  Rs 5 million has been allocated for installation works and Rs5.60 million for new development works.

 

  The Deputy Commissioner said that the construction and development schemes allocated in the budget should be completed on time and in accordance with high standards.
