LAHORE - The Lahore High Court on Monday dismissed all petitions challenging the illegibility of Saiful Malook, PML-Ns candidate for bye-election from PP-160 Lahore. The petitions were filed by Tallat Perveen and Zaman Khan seeking disqualification of Saiful Malook. The petitioners had pleaded candidate Saiful Malook was a tax defaulter and cases of tax evasion were pending against him in a court. The LHC election tribunal headed by Justice Nasir Saeed Sheikh dismissed the petitions with the observation that mere pending cases against a candidate do not give a ground for disqualification. The cases may be pending against the respondent but the decision has not yet come against him. The tribunal dismissed petitions against Saiful Malook allowing him to contest by- polls from PP-160 Lahore.
