As reported by The Nation on May 29, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Sunday said that the strained relations between Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) and CIA eased and improved, adding that intelligence sharing and cooperation with US will continue. While talking to senior journalists here, Gilani said that Pakistan had made it clear to US that Abbottabad like operation was not acceptable to it. In other words, like in the past, our government has once again surrendered completely and utterly to the Americans. It seems to have accepted all the American dictates but has been unable to get any assurance from them that Abbottabad like operations will not be repeated. Our Prime Minister felt quite proud informing journalists that our government has made it clear to US that Abbottabad like operation was not acceptable - in the same way perhaps as the drone attacks are not acceptable to us. So, after giving a cold shoulder to the American delegation, perhaps for a show, we have reverted to our usual pattern of extreme subservience. No wonder Americans take us for a ride. S.R.H.
