OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE The City Traffic Police have claimed to have arrested 57 beggars, who were putting hurdles in the smooth flow of traffic while begging at signals and important roads in the City. The have been caught during a special crackdown during the month of May, says a spokesman. Later the traffic police handed over these beggars to the district police, who have registered cases against them, he added. Meanwhile, Chief Traffic Officer SSP Syed Ahmad Mobin on Tuesday said the crackdown would continue against habitual/professional beggars. The CTO urged the masses to discourage the professional beggars and avoid giving them alms.
