KARACHI - Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Monday demanded of the Pakistan Army to start ruthless accountability in the country to recover plundered wealth from the feudal lords and looters. Addressing a meeting of MQM workers at Lal Qila Ground via telephone, Altaf Hussain said that the sovereignty of the country was in danger and the patriotic generals should support the masses for the sake of country. Altaf said that the countrys economy was deteriorating day-by-day saying that it was reported that the government was printing currency notes worth 2 billion per day to meet the governments expenditures. Referring to uprising in the Arab world, the MQM chief said that the people of Arab were rendering their lives for the revolution in their countries. He urged the Pakistan Army to support the public revolution in the country like the armies of Arab countries, which backed the uprisings and left the dictatorial regimes. He said that only army and 98 per cent oppressed people of Pakistan would secure the country and steer out the country of present situation. He urged the people of to get united under the flag of Pakistan and not to support these corrupt politicians. He alleged that the army generals had supported the looters and feudal lords during the last 63 years and questioned why the army could not take a stern action against the looters of national exchequer. Altaf said that he did not meet the army generals in the midnight saying that he openly invited them to come forward for welfare of common people. He said that he did not ask the army to impose martial law in the country, saying he wanted Pakistan Army to play role like the armies of Arab countries.
