LAHORE Advisor to Chief Minister and Chairman Lahore Transport Company Khawaja Ahmad Hassaan has said that First Urban Bus Transport Company and Foton Bus Company have entered into agreements with the LTC for the provision of standardized transport facilities to the people of Lahore. As a result of these agreements four hundred new buses would ply on the road of the City, he added. Khawaja Hassaan said Unlawful transport would be eliminated for providing better environment to transporters and to commuters. LTC is providing congenial climate for investment in urban transport sector to the transporters, he added. Chairman LTC was addressing a meeting after the agreement signing ceremony between LTC and First Bus Urban Trabsport Company and Foton Bus Company in CMs secretariat here on Monday. Managing Director of First Urban Bus Company Nooruddin Ahmad and Chairman Foton Bus Company Perry Blackerby, and LTCs Chief Executive JI Kim signed these agreements. Members of Board of Directors of LTC Mohsin Latif MPA and Mehr Ishtiaq MPA were also present on the occasion. Director General LDA Abdul Jabbar Shaheen, GM Operations LTC Asad Gillani, GM Finance Adnan Muddassar also participated in the ceremony. LTC Chairman Khawaja Ahmad Hassan said the government was fully aware of the peoples problems regarding transport facilities. He said concrete measures were being taken to provide resources for the refurbishment of the old buses. He said new 400 buses would be instrumental in reducing the transport issues in Lahore. He said system of enforcement was being made effective so that private transport companies could operate in a conducive atmosphere. He said private transport companies were extending cooperation in implementing various reforms introduced by the government in the urban transport sector. He said Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif attached top priority to the provision of standardised and affordable transport facilities to the people of City. Lectures on traffic rules: Mobile Education Unit of Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP), Lahore Region has delivered lectures on traffic rules, management and general security at different colleges, bus stands, transport companies and markets during the last month under the supervision of SSP Punjab Highway Patrol Lahore Region Abdul Karim and DSP Patrolling Malik Ashraf. According to an official communiqu issued on Monday, the lectures on traffic rules awareness were delivered at 39 schools, academies, colleges, 122 bus stands, markets and other places in the Lahore Region of PHP during the last month.
