LAHORE Moonis Elahi, accused of NICL, will appear today before the FIA to join investigation of the case without getting bail from a competent court, said counsel of Moonis on Monday. When contacted, FIA Additional Director and head of investigation team of NICL scam, Zafar Qureshi, said: We will not entertain the accused until he gets interim bail from a competent court in compliance of Sindh High Court orders passed in his protective bail. He said the court had clearly mentioned in its orders that the accused would get proper bail from a competent court as early as possible after his arrival in Pakistan. Counsel for Moonis, Aamir Saeed, said there was no need of other bail in the presence of protective bail, adding his client had obtained protective bail from the Sindh High Court for three weeks. It is also worth mentioning here that on Friday last Moonis had appeared before the FIA investigation team but the team asked him to get interim bail first from the competent court and then join investigation. On Tuesday, Moonis will visit FIA office again to join the investigation but the team head said the accused would not be entertained without getting bail from the competent court.
