PESHAWAR - A local court here on Monday denied bail to Aaron Mark De Haven, a US national arrested on the charges of illegal stay in Pakistan. The court dismissed bail petition of the US national. The judge in his order termed Havens stay illegal under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act, 1946. Section 14 prohibits the release of an accused on bail and thus I am not inclined to exercise my discretion of granting bail in favour of the accused, the order said. During the hearing in the bail petition, Havens lawyers submitted that their client had been working since 2008 in Pakistan as chief executive of a private company that was providing construction services to foreigners working on development projects in the region.
