QUETTA – The Baloch Republican Party has termed the governments’ claim of no military operation in Balochistan as untrue.

In a statement issued here Thursday, BRP spokesman Sher Muhammad Bugti said, “Human rights organisations and international media should be given access to Balochistan so that the reality could be unearthed.” He said that military operations and human rights violations by the government functionaries are underway unabated throughout Balochistan adding that security forces have been conducting a large scale military operation in Panjgour for the last one week.

He said the forces have besieged the whole area and killed several innocent Baloch people, including Saeed Baloch s/o Haji Arif Baloch in their indiscriminate firing and bombardment.

The spokesman said a large number of citizens have sustained severe injuries in the offensive while the forces have also abducted dozens of Baloch men from the area, including Anwar Khan Muhammad Baloch, Muhammad Anwar Baloch, Pir Muhammad Baloch, Rashid Baloch and Sher Muhammad Baloch.

”The forces have destroyed property of the local people and looted valuables from their houses,” he alleged, adding that women and children have been harassed during the operation.

He said that several areas of Dera Bugti are also under an attack by the forces from early Wednesday morning while several helicopters and a large number of armed troops laid siege to various area, including Zamurdan and Sori.

“Heavy bombardment by gunship helicopters and ground forces has been reported.

Villages of innocent Baloch civilians are being targeted by the forces,” he added.

Sher Muhammad Bugti alleged the state forces have increased ‘kill and dump policy’, as they have killed and dumped body of BNM Panjgour president Master Abdul Rehman Baloch. “Rehman Baloch was picked up by the forces along with many other Baloch activists during a military operation in Panjgour on February 24,” he added.

He said scores of Baloch people, who were picked up by the forces during the incessant military action in Panjgour, are still missing.

He said the government authorities have always claimed there is no military operation being carried out in Balochistan, but, he added, their claim in this regard is untrue.

“The imposition of the Governor’s Rule and other forms of governments provide no relief to the people of Balochistan, rather all such tactics have proved to be an effort to conceal truth from the international community,” he added.

The BRP spokesman appealed to the international community not to pay focus to the claims being made by the government regarding Balochistan.

He asked the international media and human rights organisations to send their investigative groups to Balochistan to have a real picture of Baloch genocide.
