LAHORE - The Government College University intermediate students Thursday openly celebrated their last day at university as a festival after two decades. Students gathered in Amphitheatre and got their college shirts signed by VC Dr Khaleeq-ur-Rahman, Director Intermediate Studies Iqbal Saqib and their teachers. They said that they would keep these shirts as souvenirs from their alma mater for their rest of the life. Students also chanted slogans in favor of the university administration, as they were allowed to celebrate their last day in the university after two decades.

Addressing the students, the VC said education at GCU was designed to inculcate values of tolerance, moderation and coexistence among the younger generations. He also discussed with the students their future plans and also guided them about modern subjects and fields.

Talking to the VC, students said that they all got fired up when Pakistan was ranked among the third world countries and promised that they would study day and night to become an asset for Pakistan. They termed their stay at the Government College Lahore as “golden days of their life.”
