MULTAN - The Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan is going to launch a country-wide train march against what it describes as MQM’s terrorism, extortion, pre-poll rigging and target killing in Karachi from March 3. The march will be led by JI Pakistan Secretary General Liaqat Baloch and he will be flanked by JI Punjab Ameer Dr Syed Waseem Akhtar, Sindh Ameer Dr Mirajul Huda and other leaders.

This was declared by Jamaat Punjab Deputy Secretary General Rao Zafar Iqbal while addressing a news conference here on Thursday. He said that the JI leaders would meet Chief Election Commissioner after the termination of the march to present a resolution for the holding of transparent and timely elections.  He further revealed that the JI activists would kick off the march from Karachi by Allama Iqbal Express on March 3 and stay at Rohri. “They’ll resume march from Rohri on March 4 by Allama Iqbal Express and arrive at Multan,” he added. He said that a public meeting would be held at Multan Cantt Railway Station on March 5 and the participants of Train March would be seen off for Lahore on March 5. He said that the last leg of the march would be held on March 6 and the JI workers would march between Lahore and Rawalpindi by Awami Express.

He lashed out at the MQM and said that its ministers resigned from Sindh government for taking place in interim set up. He alleged that the MQM contested election at gunpoint while 11 political and religious parties opposed this terrorism. He demanded election commission to obey the order of SC and evolve voter lists with the help of army, shift the votes of thousands of such voters back to Karachi, whose votes were shifted to the places of their birth.
