Lahore Police launch website

LAHORE – CCPO Lahore Amjad Javed Salemi on Thursday stressed for the need of conducting computer courses for police officials to meet the demands of the modern age said a press release.
While talking to media-men at the launching of police website he said that Citizen’s Feed Back Cell should be further strengthened through police website so citizens could send their complaints and suggestions.
CCPO Lahore said that the importance of interactive media could not be denied and computer and internet were very important in present age. He said that besides Citizen Feed Back System, website, Registration of FIR, completion of challans and provision of other information would also be made available on this website. He said that photographs of most wanted criminals would also be uploaded on the website so that people could immediately inform police about their presence and activities.  CCPO further said that the website of Lahore Police would also enable verification of SIMs, registration numbers of motorcycles and cars. CCPO said that there was a complete ban on display and carrying of weapons in the city and stern action would be taken against the violators. Replying to the question he said that so far 20 thousand motorcycles were impounded, out of which 70 percent had been taken by the citizens after registration while millions of rupees had been deposited in the national exchequer.
