LAHORE – A 40-year-old man was crushed to death by a truck in the Shera Kot police area on Thursday, rescue workers said.

The unidentified deceased was crossing the road near Babu Sabu Interchange when he had the accident, said the rescuers. They cited reckless drive as the reason for the crash. The driver managed escape. Police reached the spot and shifted the body to morgue. Further investigations are underway.

FOUND DEAD: A 40-year-old man recovered dead in Bhatti Gate area on Thursday, police said. Some passersby spotted the body on a road and informed police. Police investigators believe that the deceased, yet to be identified, was apparently a drug addict. The body was shifted to morgue. The police are investigating.

FIRE: Valuables worth thousands of rupees reduced to ashes in a Hunjarwal house fire.  Firefighters said the family lit a candle during loadshedding, which suddenly fell on the clothes. As a result, the house of Sheikh Iqbal caught fire.
