LAHORE – Two people were murdered in many incidents in different parts of the provincial metropolis, police said on Thursday.

According to the police, Muhammad Akram, 63, was tortured to death by Anwar and his accomplices in Hydyara village.

Police said that Anwar along with his four other accomplices brutally assaulted Akram during their scuffle, which erupted over the dispute of watering the fields. Akram sustained multiple injuries and was rushed to a local hospital where he expired later. The body was removed to the morgue for autopsy.  In another incident, Muhammad Iftikhar, 24, was on his way home when unidentified motorcyclists shot him in the neck in the North Cantonment police vicinity. The resident of Guldasht Town, Iftikhar, said to an employee at a utility store, died on the spot.
