MIRPURKHAS - Thirteen policemen were suspended in charges of receiving extortion while the police arrested an injured dacoit after encounter and recovered arms.

According to a press release, on secret information of dacoits near PCB ground at Tandoadam road, the police conducted a raid where they faced resistance.

Armed dacoits opened fire on the police and in retaliation a dacoit Rashid Makrani was arrested in injured condition. The police recovered a TT pistol, a magazine and bullets while his accomplices managed to escape.

About 13 policemen included Imamdin, Siddique Soomro, Kaleem, Liaqat Baloch, Saeed Chota, Faqeer Muhammad Baloch, Hadi Bux Jarwar, Zulfikar Chandio, Zahid, Ikram, Aijaz Malik, Kamran and Asif were suspended by IG Police. SSP Mirpurkhas Muhammad Usman Ghani Siddique submitted a report regarding their involvement in receiving extortion from narcotic dens. They were transferred to Karachi.

SSP said that stern legal action was being taken against black-sheep in the police to end the crime in the district.


A wanted scoundrel was arrested by CID police Mirpurkhas in a raid at MA Jinnah Road near district and sessions court here the other day.

According to police sources say that on a tip off, officials of CID police carried out a raid and apprehended a wanted criminal Muhammad Yaseen Khaskheli. He was wanted in difference cases of the district.


An injured robber was arrested and two of his accomplices escaped during an encounter in the limit of Old Mirpur police station. Eight others were arrested during raids in taluka Sindhri. According to details, on a tip off, the police arrived at a suspected hideout of robbers when they faced resistance. Armed persons opened fire on the police after which the police replied. Injured Ali Gull Shar was arrested with a TT pistol, two magazines and bullets while two unknown armed accomplices managed to escape.

Sources further said that Mirpurkhas police carried out raids in various villages of taluka Sindhri and apprehended 8 criminals and recovered 4 stolen bikes. Interrogation is underway.
