QUETTA - Frontier Corps (FC) shot dead two drug smugglers and arrested 3 others in wounded condition. FC also recovered improvised explosive devices and weapons in Mashkel and Sui area of Balochistan on Monday.

According to FC spokesman, acting on a tip off, FC personnel reached the site when drug smugglers opened fire at them near Mashkel area of Chaghi district. Two drug smugglers were killed during exchange of fire while three others held in wounded condition.

Arms including 3 small machine guns, 1 LMG and 1, RPG7 were also recovered from their possession. The narcotics were reduced to ashes as their vehicle gutted.

Meanwhile, FC personnel foiled a terrorist bid and defused 10 kg improvised explosive device near Goth Shahzain of Sui area, Dera Bugti.

During operation, 12 kg IED and 3 RPG 7 were also seized from a hideout of an alleged militant at RD 238 in Sui. Further investigations are underway.

Three die in clash in Jhal Magsi:

As many as three persons died in an armed clash between two groups over an old enmity in Gandawa area of the district on Monday.

According to Levies sources, two sub clans took positions and used automatic weapons against each other due an old feud at Qazi Ismail area. As a result, three of them died on the spot.

The bodies were shifted to nearby hospital where the victims were identified as Muhammad Arif, Muhammad Zafar and Mehrullah.

The bodies of the deceased were handed over to heirs after completion of legal formalities. Levies force is looking into the matter.
