LAHORE : It is a coincidence that two deputy chairmen of the Federal Board of Revenue, an apex state tax collection body in the country, retired on April 30 on attaining the age of superannuation.

FBR sources told APP here on Tuesday that Deputy Chairman Shahid Rahim Sheikh joined as Assistant Collector Customs in 1980 while Deputy Chairman Malik Abdul Samad joined as Assistant Commissioner, Income Tax on March 29, 1979.  Both held key posts at various stations across the country and retired today (Tuesday).

Other senior members of FBR, Chief Commissioners, Chief Collectors will also retire in a couple of months.  Chairman FBR Ansar Javed lauded their meritorious services for better working of the institution and streamlining the tax collection system with excellent transparency besides significant improvement in levy of taxes.
