Moin brings favourites in 36 probables

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan cricket team chief selector Moin Khan accommodate majority of his blue-eyed persons belonging to a specific province in the 36 probables announced for the summer camp starting from May 6 in Lahore.
There are the names of the players who have well passed their careers while many average players were preferred to the very talented and deserving ones, who have been performing consistently in the domestic circuit for the past one-year. Merit was completely ignored when it came to selection of few certain individuals like Nasir Jamsed, who was a big flop since long, Taufiq Umer, who hardly managed to score even few runs, Imran Farhat was just picked to shut his father-in-law’s mouth. Only Yasir Hameed is player in the camp who really deserves to be part of the national and was long ignored by the PCB high command.
Almost same players were once again given nod in the middle order department while all-rounders list ends with only four names and that too same i.e. Hafeez, Afridi, Bilawal and Anwar Ali. Anwar Ali is the only player who suffered despite showing more than satisfactory performances whenever given a chance, but due to no political backing, he had to face the axe on majority of occasions.
Spin department also revolves around Rehman, Zulfiqar Babar with the addition of Raza Hassan, Atif Maqbool and Yasir Shah while fast bowling department rely heavily on the shoulders of Umar Gul, Ehsan Adil, Wahab Riaz, Rahat Ali and most notable entry in the squad is M Sami, who hardly managed to take even few wickets for the last two or three seasons, but due to his affiliation from the same province, Sami was included in the camp.
Once again Moin's favorite Sarfraz Ahmad was given go ahead and Adnan Akmal was also invited, but most notable absentee remains Zulqarnain Haider, who is suffering at the hands of the PCB and its panel of selectors since long. Zulqarnain committed a mistake for which he had already paid heavily, but keeping him out from the national team without any major reason, despite he is deserving and result-oriented players, he still was not considered, which clearly indicates biased attitude of chief selector.  Rawalpindi and Islamabad players gave exceptional performances in the Quaid Trophy and other domestic tournaments, both these teams had the honor of playing the final of Quaid Trophy, but to the great disappointment of twin-cities’ players, none of the top performers were even considered in the 36-member summer camp squad.
Imad Wasim had scored 804 runs in 10 matches and also took 41 wickets, Faizan Riaz scored 712 runs in 10 matches, Shahzad Azam Rana took 51 wickets in 10 matches, Awais Zia scored 711 runs in 10 matches, Shoaib Nasir scored 656 runs in 9 matches, Haseeb Azam scored 410 runs and also took 51 wickets in 10 matches and Nasir Malik took 65 wickets in 10 matches and there are a great number of such players who have been giving consistent performances but not given break yet which is very disappointing news for them. Merit must be PCB’s top priority setting aside nepotism and biased selection as it’s the only key to success for national team.
