LAHORE - Punjab Chief Secretary Khizar Hayat Gondal has ensured foolproof security arrangements for the visiting Zimbabwe cricket team. Presiding over a meeting to review arrangements for upcoming Zimbabwe team’s here Thursday, the chief secretary said that the visit of Zimbabwe team was of key importance for revival of international cricket in Pakistan. He directed all the relevant departments to make best arrangements in this regard. He added special counters should be set up at the stadium for facilitating spectators.

He stated: “Punjab government is providing facilities for promotion of sports in the province and all the possible steps will be taken to provide conducive environment for visiting the foreign teams. He added that all required arrangements including security would be ensured with the help of police and the city administration during the cricket matches.  PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan thanked the chief secretary for cooperation being extended by Punjab government. The meeting was attended by MPA Rana Sanaullah, IG Punjab, home secretary, secretary sports, commissioner Lahore, DCO Lahore and other officers concerned.
